Quality of Life Consultation
Paws at Peace offers in-person and virtual appointments to help guide you when your companion is nearing the end of life. Our consultations aim to help your pet enjoy the beautiful time they have left and help you make decisions about when to say goodbye.

In-person Quality of Life Consultations
If you think it may be time or is close to the time for euthanasia, the doctor can come in person for a comprehensive quality-of-life consultation. This includes a thorough review of your pet’s medical history and medical records and a comprehensive physical examination. Together, we decide if there are steps that can be taken to keep your loved one comfortable and happy at home a little longer and help you work through how to decide when it may be time to say goodbye. The doctor can prescribe medications and treatments and make specific dietary and lifestyle recommendations. Please note: We are unable to perform bloodwork or other diagnostics.
With in-person consultations, the doctor comes to your home and will:
- Review all medical records
- Perform a thorough physical examination
- Explain in great detail all the options available, and how to decide when it is time to say goodbye.
Teleconsults
If you are struggling with this decision, we also offer brief 15-minute phone consultations with the doctor at no charge to help you think through these difficult decisions. Please note: without an in-person examination, we can only provide general guidance and cannot diagnose or treat particular medical conditions or prescribe medications.
